So, just as I have mentioned before but on the 29th of August, we went back to Uni to study Japanese. Me and Lea had been looking so much forward to starting school again! (And so did our friends). But this year will be a bit different from last year since our professor just took a year off from school, so we had one new teacher and 2 new teacher assistants(There are new every year). haha, everyone really likes the new teachers, the new teacher is so much fun, she is always laughing(mostly at us, but who caresxD). In one of the classes we where learning: くだものの中でどちらが一番好きですか。 (Among fruits which one is your favorite?)So she was asking everyone questions in that form, but then she decides to asks me: きょうしつの中でだれが一番ハンサムですか。 (who in this classrooms is the most handsome?) I THOUGHT I WOULD MELT TO THE GROUND! I was so embarrassed>< I just said that I did not know who(I am the type that can not easily say that kind of things:S) So she just said that I was a nice person not wanting to say whoxP Then our new TA are also really cute>< At the end of one of the classes they where teaching us, they asked if they could take a picture of the whole class^^ Me, Lea and our friends do some weird things sometimes(often...). In one of our breaks in one class the other day(That the TA where teaching). One of our friends was eating SKYR(Dairy product). So me, Lea and one other friends where teasing him when he was eating by saying "AAAHH" when he was taking the spoon to his mouth and "OOmph" when he closed his mouth, then when we had done this few times we noticed that the TA where laughing at thisxD haha, everyone in the class likes it when the teachers laughxD If there is something Icelandic people like it is licorice, you can find so many versions of it that every one can find something they like. Maybe some of you have tried getting a Japanese person to eat licorice, but Japanese people usually do NOT like it. So of course Icelandic people(and others) like to try to get a Japanese person to eat something that tastes like licorice. So far the TA have tried two versions of it. Last week they had some hard candy with licorice taste and pepper inside, they thought it was horrible enough without knowing about the pepper inside, but they where to polite to spit it out even though Lea told them that it was OK. Then this week they had a candy called "Tópas"(similar to Opal, if you know what that isxD) with a licorice taste, they did not like that so much either, and where probably relieved that this one was so smallxD Me, Lea and everyone on the second year all have a really good feeling about this year, well except for essays in my case, really do not like them!!:s ~Emi Labels: gaijin gyaru, japanese class, professor, teacher assistant, university Posted Wednesday, September 14, 2011 |

Me with the lens: My opinion on the lens: I really like the color and the design of the lens, one can hardly see my real iris color like you can with some lenses. I do not think they look fake, and no one around me has said anything about that(and I think my aunt would definitely say it if it where so). I have astigmatism, so I should be using toric lenses(0.75 on one and something similar on the other), but using regular lenses does not affect my vision that much, although I do not know what long term use of regular lenses could do to my eyes. Somehow it differs from day to day how they feel on my eyes, sometimes I get really tired easily and sometimes I can wear them for hours without taking any notice of them, but of course that could be because of many things. They dry pretty quickly, I have heard that Princess mimi lenses do that, but I just use eye drops to help with that. ~Emi Labels: astigmatism, bambi series, green, princess mimi, review, toric, tsubasa masuwaka Posted Friday, September 9, 2011 |

In my opinion a yukata is a must have, not that I wear one often, but it is just to much fun to have one of those pretties in the closet!!>< In the beginning of the year we had "Japan Festival", that the students that are learning Japanese take care of, and me and Lea where in the welcoming section, not the greatest one since we where stuck there the WHOLE time! So want to get one like these? Then check this out! >< This is a set of Yukata, Obi and a Geta<3
Worrying about not being able to wear it? Do not worry! it comes with a CD that teaches various ways to tie an obi and how to put on the yukata!<3 AND something extra! Isn't it always fun to see someone you admire wear something you own? ><
If you are wondering where my blue yukata is there, I think it sold out since I can not find it on Rakuten....:s Well that is all for now, until later!>< ~Emi Labels: ageha, doraemon, gaijin gyaru, geta, how to dress in yukata, kigurumi, obi, pikachu, sakurai rina, sakurina, shirohato, yukata Posted Tuesday, September 6, 2011 |

Hi gals! Last Friday our uncle's wife turned 35 years old and we went to her b-day party. Not much happened there except that we got a really good soup(but HOT, burned my tounge:s). And then a cake><

Hi gals! On Monday we returned to school as second years in Japanese, us and our friends have been looking forwards to this since the spring semester endedxD There are about 20 something people in the second year and it is a really good group, and now for some while there has been a discussion about making a student council. So today we went with people from the second year to re-start the Japanese student association>< haha, we all agreed who should be the President so he did most of the talking^^ Then we discussed many things related to the student association, the website, who would do what, the name and stuff like that^^ One idea is to choose the name and base the website off it. I like that idea>< I hope that the name will be a good one, since one idea was to base it off of a Japanese God, something related to wisdom or learning. It is a good idea, but one name that popped up was "Dainichi" or something like that, meaning purity and wisdom. I do not really like it, since when telling people the name of your student association and you tell them "Dainichi", people often then ask what it means and there is nit much to say really, and in my opinion you should be able to say something when you use the name of a god, for example if you used "Athena", then you would of course be able to say something. Well we just ended by deciding that we would all try to find 2-3 names that we would vote for^^ But one of the reasons that we all decided to do this was that last year there was not much interaction between the first and the second years, and we really want to change that(And honestly I am also just really curious about who is in the first yearxD). Me and Lea will be taking charge of updating the site, making announcements, uploading pictures, etc... And then there will hopefully many things happen around the people in the Japanese major>< Ah! anyone have any good ideas for a name for out student association, something Japanese with a good meaning? ~Emi Labels: japanese, japanese gods, kohai, names, senpai, student association |
