Hi gals!
I should actually be studying now...me and Lea both have a presentation due for next Friday on Japanese history, but it is "surprisingly" mostly related to politics...which I am not too interested in...D:
So now as you can see(and read) I decided to blog insteadxD

Mine and Lea's newest obsession most definitely is Once upon a time and Merlin.
Although OUT is the one that we favor more than the other(How can one not with all those Princesses!?).
And the newest episode actually featured Belle! Beauty and the Beast has by far always been our favorite Disney movie!

It was also quite funny because at one time in the episode Belle says "Gaston" and while watching the episode neither of us said anything, but some hours later I just had to say "you know what sis? When Belle said 'Gaston' in this episode I felt that it was just like in the movie!", and she could not agree more, that one word, name, was somehow just said so perfectly!
And how the hopes where raised on getting to see Ariel soon!>< Hope it happens sooner than later!
I hope you all that have not watched this show start doing so, you will not regret it!><
Until later, do not forget the give away that will pop up this week! ^^
We've been on our way to make a new blog layout for the longest time, so yesterday we finally decided to get to it!
It's nothing much, pretty plain really... but we like itx3

We where gonna make a banner, but then we did not like what we where coming up with, and the banner picture look good so we decided to just go with it:)
You might have noticed that our blog has now a new name! yay! It is something that has kinda been bugging me, Lea, since the beginning. I've wanted our blog to have a name, but I didn't want to name it just anything, but about 2-3 weeks ago we where learning 界 in kanji class, and how it could be used like 人間界 (read ningenkai) that means the world of humans.
Then one evening it just suddenly popped! And I asked Emi if it wouldn't be cool to name our blog 双子のギャル界!It is read as Futago no Gyarukai, and means something like The World of Gyaru Twins.
So, what do you think?
YUSS!!!
Finally got ourselfs to start changing the look of of blog(FINALLY!!).
So you can expect a lot a weird looks appearing xD
ALSO!!!
Look forward to our first give away that will pop up this week!!

As some of you might know we are learning Japanese in the University of Iceland and currently we are on our 2nd year :3
But, first thing first! We started school with COMPLETELY new teachers, since our professor decided to take a year off... but there have always been two Teacher assistants, usually girls, that are learning to become teachers and there are always new each year:) but our new professor is so different from our other one... she is upbeat, and laughs a lot, and is NOT always stressed out like our other professor was... Although she is stricter, and expects more of us, but I feel that is better, because it kind of makes everyone want to work harder!
She also started changing the course a lot, giving us more assignments, and in the beginning of this semester we started with a new book, Genki II ... yay!
She is also less uptight than our other professor, she came partying with us after Japan Festival with the Teaching Assistants and she was so DRUNK x3 haha, everybody loves her so muchx3
Well, in the beginning of our 2nd year it was time to start thinking
about which schools we wanted to enter in Japan. which was not a hard
choices for usxD At least not WHERE! Tokyo was the most obvious answer
for us~<3
We first decided to apply for Waseda, Gakushuin and Oberlin... but finding what classes where taught in Gakushuin turned out to be a pain in the ass, but we found a few... to few... so it turned out that it was just not worth it for us...-.-' and we decided to choose ICU instead, even though as we thought more of it, we did not want to go back to their book....
The process is that you choose three schools that you like and choose classes you would like to attend for those schools, and get the coordinator and some other office person (that is in charge of these things) to sign it, and then you hand it in with your grades from Uni and TOEFL test results, since most schools require you to have taken TOEFL.
Then it is handed in to the International Office, but our deadline was the 16th of January. We specifically asked them to rather put us in our 2nd or 3rd choices, than being separated... we don't want that! T^T
Now about two weeks ago we received the news that we can start applying to Oberlin, which pretty much says that we'll be going to Oberlin, TOGETHER!!!! haha, yatta!
Sadly, Oberlin is about 1 and a half hour away from Shibuya with a train, and the rent in the dormitories is pretty expensive, but we are looking into if Sakura House would be cheaper for us!
Those two things are two of the main reasons we put Oberlin as our 3rd choice, but we really wanted to go there, and are really psyched that we are!xD
Nothing much interesting has been happening .... hehe~
theeeen, until next time--- bai bai^^

hi, gals(^-^*)/
We bought some new lenses from Pinky Paradise in the beginning of January and received them in the end of January, review coming soon!:) So I decided to enter their monthly contest on their facebook page, and it would make me very happy if you would like my picture!
Credits go to Kristinn Ingvarsson for the picture of us together. |
January the 28th was the annual Japan Festival held by us, the students in the University of Iceland in the Japanese course. Like always it was a huge success, and we had a great time!
We where actually kinda lazy about taking pictures, so we stole a few from our classmates, hope that okey! :)
hahaxD I love that top picture of me with our friend, so funnyxD
There was a lot to bee seen and tried. We had a showing of dramas and trailers, calligraphy where you could get your name written in Japanese, origami, karaoke (oh the horror...), ikebana, tea ceremony... and SUSHI! ... well, and other things, my memory is just not too goodx3 OH! almost forgot there was also a dance, we had been practicing Hare Hare Yukai with a few other girls, but we did not want to dance on the stage:)

Everyone was very happy there, and so many people came!
There you can see the calligraphy booth, the origami corner, shiatsu and Ikebana.
Also, ther is always the tradition in the anime and manga room that everyone can draw on the White board, sadly we didn't take any pictures of it...:'(
Just the usual camwhoringxD Here you can see how the dyeing turned out, at least on me, Emi is wearing wig parts:3
Group shots! before- in between and after the festival.
Omnomnom, the delicous sushi!
The after party!!!
Then came the after party!!! It was a lot of fun, we had leftovers sushi from the festival, and some delicious candy that was also at the festival!
oh! maybe we should tell you... most of the Japanese students are pervs, as can be seen on the top picture x3 haha, and that guy came in through the fire escape, hilarious, he just suddenly popped up and we where so surprised! x3
And just some pics of everyone having fun!
So much gossiping was done :O wahahahax3 and a lot of drinking, well for most people, we have enough fun as is, without drinking:)
awww... and our teachers also came and one of the got so drunk, and she was so funny, then she hugged me, Lea, TWICE!!! she wss so nice, and I was so happy! what a teachers pet I amXDXDXD

At last years festival we sang "The fisherman's song" on the stage, but not this year since we have a new teacher, but we wanted to share with you another song that we sang after a speech contest that we had:)
We really love this song, it is very beautiful, and it was a fun process learning it and then singing it!<3
...and another one, just of the warm up, everyone getting piped up... can you spot us? ;P
and one from the festival itself from last year:)
We ordered some dyes in the beginning of January in hope of them arriving before Japan Fest, which was last week... thankfully they did arrive a day before! so close :O
But, we also took the chance and ordered some eyebrow pencil and eyebrow mascara from Dolly Wink, eyeliners from Shiseido (they are great! we've been using them for some months now and they last a long time and are really good and easy to apply!) and a clip to make the bangs wavier... which I unfortunately have not found the right way to use so far...-.-' only had total failure...
Here is the content (except for the cup that it is put in)
A fastener(ehe..hehe...he, no clue whatsoever what it is calledxP) the color itself, some thingie to stir it together, gloves and an oil that you are supposed to use after towel drying your hair. The oil is supposed to help repair your hair from the coloring:)

Before coloring.... we haven't dyed our hair since August...
Emi almost finished with dyeing my hair...
she put my hair up like the mayor from Grinch, I was not liking it....
We really liked the outcome, even though the red color was a tad bit light, but oh well... can't be helped:)
No pictures of how it came out for now... we're gonna blog about Japan Festival and post soon, and there will be many pics there to look at x3
Ever since High School we've loved having a school diary to get organized, even though that was not the only thing we used it for xD Well, we actually require something like this to keep us to our studies as we are pretty lazy and it is very hard for us to sit down to study without knowing what exactly it is that we are gonna study.
In High School we used to have diaries from the school that we used.. hahahah... you could say it was kinda weeaboo-ie, or something like that since we wrote a lot of stuff in katakana only and some random kanji and a LOT of drawings, mostly of the same patterns. But we really love them and still keep them:)

But, yeah so we got this idea... why not make it ourselves? well, not completely by ourselves, we got the book itself from an insurance company, but made the cover, and found pictures to use on the back cover and inside the diary.
Emi did most of the work in decorating, but we already had the lace that we "stole" from our grandmotherx3 but then we bought the pearls that are on the edge and the stickers that we used to decorate the side of the pages in Accessorize.
I, Lea, made the chain that we put on it, but I don't remember where we bought those beads as it's been some while since we got them, but that slower thingy we got at Accessorize.
Weeeeee>.< we are so proud of ourselves for this creation of ours!
Now we just can't wait for it to be filled with all kinds of weird-ness and good memories.
